Dates
Opening Ceremonies will take place on Friday August 18, 2000 at The Forks. The site of the festival this year. The Ceremonies will begin at about 7:00 pm in the Dragon's Lair.
As tradition dictates, the beautiful Dotting of the Eye Ceremony is performed to awaken the dragon spirit and start the festivities. The ceremony will be followed by a party in the Dragon's Lair.
The Dragon's Lair Social will follow racing on Saturday, August 19 2000. In previous years the Dragon's Lair was a very popular meeting area for paddlers, spectators, and sponsors.
A Post Race reception and award presentations will take place in the Dragon's Lair immediately following racing on Sunday, August 20 2000. Approximately 5:00P.M..
Practices will be available in August. Team captains/managers will be notified as the dates become available. Some days will not be booked due to unavailability of coaches or site access. Practices are booked on a first come first serve basis. All teams must register for at least 3 training sessions, weather permitting. All sessions that are cancelled due to bad weather will be rescheduled, time permitting.

Exceptions will be considered by the Festival Race Committee
A preliminary Race Schedule will be released approximately one week prior to the event.

Team Logistics Meeting
The Team Logistics Meeting will be held the week of the event. The meeting will begin at 7:00pm. All team captains and team managers will be notified of the correct date and all should attend. Call 982-1830 for more information or e-mail [email protected]
Steerperson Training
Steerperson training will take place during the practice sessions booked by the team.
